Anyone who has ever left milk in the refrigerator past its recommended use date knows that horrid smell that emanates when the container lid is removed. This catastrophe is best handled quickly. Blot up as much of the spill as possible with paper towels. Bring a plastic bag with you so that you can place the soiled paper towel into it and discard the bag as soon as you’re done to get them out of the house quickly.
