Creating projects with stamp pads and ink is a fun project for young and old alike. Unfortunately the ink from the stamp pad can sometimes get on your clothing. There are some things you may try to remove the ink stain before it becomes permanent. Make sure the garment is washable. Step 6 gives the directions for non-washable fabrics. Try to remove the stamp pad ink stain as quickly as possible. Prepare a mixture of 1 qt. warm water, ½ tsp. dishwashing detergent and 1 tbsp. ammonia in a well-ventilated area. Soak the stained portion of the garment for 30 minutes. Rinse well. If the stain remains, continue to Step 3. Combine 1 quart of warm water and 1 tbsp. white vinegar. Soak the ink stain for one hour. This step may not work at all on cotton or linen. Rinse the garment well and allow to air dry. If the stain persists, move on to Step 4. Apply rubbing alcohol to the stain.
