How Do You Remove Tape Residue From A Wood Floor?

0

Carpet tape is often used to hold a rug into place so that it doesn’t end up sliding across the floor, but when it’s time to remove the rug there is often a sticky residue left behind. Carpet tape is great for staying put, a double edged sword. Removing it can be quite the tedious chore as it keeps sticking long after you want it to. There is a much easier way to remove tape adhesive that can save you many miserable hours. Step 1 Remove as much of the tape as possible with a plastic edge or scraper. Step 2 Spray WD-40 onto the residue and allow it to sit for an hour or more. Step 3 Scrape away the residual adhesive with a plastic edge. It should slide right off with practically no effort. Step 4 Wipe the area clean with a clean dry cloth. Step 5 Repeat the process for stubborn areas.
