How Do You Remove The Drive Shaft From A Kawasaki Bayou?
The Kawasaki Bayou is a four-wheel drive ATV (All-Terrain Vehicle). The drive shaft is the part that transfers the power from the engine to the rear wheels. It is secured to the transmission and the rear axle by two bolts. One bolt connects the drive shaft to the transmission, and the other connects the drive shaft to the rear axle. To repair or replace the drive shaft, you must remove it from the Bayou. Pull the Kawasaki Bayou onto two ramp lifts. Get under the vehicle and locate the drive shaft. Use a wrench to remove the bolts on each end of the drive shaft. Remove the retainer clips from the caps inside the universal joints using pliers and a screwdriver. Put all the parts you remove in a place where you won’t lose them. Remove the caps from the drive shaft with pliers. Remove the universal joint from the drive shaft. Slide the drive shaft out of the transmission and out from underneath the Kawasaki Bayou.
