How Do You Remove The Musty Mildew Smell From Clothes?
Mildew and mold grow rapidly in dark, damp places. If the area you keep clothing isn’t well lit and has no air circulation, clothes can develop a musty odor that’s difficult to get out. If you leave a load of wet clothing in the washer or dryer, the smell can be so bad you can’t imagine ever getting it out. However, there are many ways to remove the musty mildew smell from clothes that are fairly easy. Choose a sunny, windy day. Hang clothes on a clothesline to air them out. Add 1 cup of white vinegar to the load of clothes and launder as usual. Add another 1/2 cup of vinegar to the rinse cycle. Remove clothing from the washer and hang outside to dry. Wash clothes with a detergent containing chlorine or non-chlorine bleach. Choose one that’s safe for your clothing.
