How Do You Remove Tile Glue From Walls?
Before re-tiling or painting a previously tiled wall, you need to get rid of the old tile glue. In the past, this usually meant using solvent-based adhesive removers. However, while these do the job well, they are not the safest products for removing glue, especially not from interior walls. Now there are many safer products from which to choose. Of course, adhesive removers still won’t do all the labor for you. You’ll still have to put some work into it. But chemical glue removers make scraping much less strenuous. Open doors and windows for ventilation. Put on protective eyewear and gloves. Place a drop cloth on the floor of your working area. This is to catch any spills or debris and will make cleanup much easier. Apply adhesive remover to the glue. Some kinds will spread on, but others you can spray or brush on with a clean paint brush. Start at the top of the wall and work your way down, covering all of the glue. Leave the remover on the glue for the time indicated on the label. I
