If possible, wipe candle wax drippings as soon as they occur with a soft cloth. If the wax has already hardened to your carpet or wood furniture, you will need a few household items and some patience to get rid of the wax completely. Tear or cut a brown paper bag to make it flat. Place the brown paper bag on top of the candle wax. Make sure any printing that may be on the bag is facing up away from the carpet. Warm up your steam iron by setting it on a medium setting. Place the warmed steam iron on top of the paper bag. Move the iron in a back-and-forth motion over top of the paper bag. When the wax begins to melt, the paper bag will absorb it. Reposition the bag when a dark spot begins to appear on the bag. Place a dry part of the bag on top of the wax. Repeat Steps 4, 5 and
