How Do You Remove White Washed Paint Deep In Grooves After Staining Wood Floors?
Just about anyone who has painted a room is familiar with the experience. No matter how careful you are, or no matter how many drop cloths you put down, somehow at least a little paint will invariably spill on the floor. Paint that is visible on the surface of the floor is easy to clean. Paint that has seeped down into the grooves between the planks and dried is more difficult to remove. Removing paint in the grooves of wood floors is not complicated, but does require time. Dislodge as much paint as you can from the groove with a steel wool pad. Apply heat above the groove with a hair dryer or heat gun for two to four minutes. The heat will soften up the paint. Do not apply the dryer or gun directly to the wood. Scrape in the grooves of the floor with a nail file or putty knife. Swipe along the grooves with sandpaper folded in half. Pry out as much of the paint as possible with the nail file or putty knife.
