How Do You Remove Windows Messenger Service Pack 2?
Windows Messenger is a chat program that comes with a Service Pack 2 update. The program has been tightly integrated into many programs, like Internet Explorer, Outlook Express and Remote Assistance. Some users, however, find it extremely annoying, as it loads automatically during each startup. You can remove this program completely using a simple command that shuts down its process and removes it from your computer. Close your web browser and Windows Messenger. Close Outlook Express and Remote Assistance if you are currently using them. Both of these programs use Windows Messenger and must be closed before continuing with the de-installation. Click “Start” and then “Run.” A window will open. Type in “RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\INF\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove” (without the quotes) and hit “Enter.” The uninstall process will automatically begin, and you will see a window appear at the top left of your screen.
