How Do You Repair A Broken Tomato Plant?

0

Tomato plants break–whether it’s by accident of the result of a strong wind. Fortunately, you can repair these breaks so your plants will not only continue to grow, but thrive. Step 1 Inspect your tomato plant to determine if it is a fresh break. If it is, proceed to step 3. If it is not, proceed to step 2. Step 2 Make small cuts on either side of the break with a razor blade or knife to expose fresh flesh of the plant if the break is not new. Step 3 Fit the two portions of the tomato plant together at the break. Bind them with either gauze, tape or cloth. By doing this, you are creating an environment that is airless. This will allow the tomato plant to bind itself together. Step 4 Unwind the tape, gauze or cloth a few days later. You may see a scar where the break had been, but the tomato plant will continue growing and bear fruit.
