How Do You Repair A Loose Ceramic Tile?

0

It is important to promptly repair loose ceramic tiles. If left unfixed, moisture can build up underneath the tile and begin to damage the substructure. With the correct tools and materials, you can easily fix loose tiles without having to remove or replace them. Drill six to eight holes in the grout line around the loose tiles with a carbide-tipped masonry drill bit that is no larger than the width of the grout line. Drill just past the bottom of the tiles. Do not drill into the tiles. Vacuum the grout dust that was left behind from drilling. Inject tile adhesive or epoxy into the drill holes with a construction syringe, and help it to seep into the voids underneath the tile by lightly hammering on the top of the tile with a rubber mallet. Continue until the holes are completely filled. Wipe excess adhesive away with a damp sponge. Place a weight on the tile, and allow the adhesive to cure for at least two days. Fill in the drilled holes with matching grout.
