When that happens, patch the area for an easy repair. Remove the mesh cover from the pool. Your cover may have loops and rings that attach it to the outer edges of the pool. Unclip them gently so you do not risk tearing the mesh. Lay the cover on the ground, and spread it out completely so you can see the holes. Gently cut the frayed edges of the hole with scissors to remove the frayed edges and clean the area a bit before patching it. Cut a patch to the correct size, using scissors.
