How Do You Repair A Rear Bumper Cover?
Bumper covers are meant to absorb the massive impact of a collision to protect the frame of vehicles from damage. While good at absorbing impact, bumper covers are not very sturdy, and are easily damaged in even minor accidents. You can mend most bumper damage at home, but serious tearing of a bumper, such as the bumper being broken into two separate pieces, will probably need the help of a professional mechanic. Remove all of the fasteners holding the bumper in place with a screwdriver and pliers, and then slide the bumper off of the vehicle. Place the bumper cover on 2 sawhorses to begin the repair process. Scrub the bumper cover well with a car wax/grease remover. Check to make sure the bumper is clean by rinsing it with water. If the water beads up on the surface, it is not clean enough.
