How Do You Repair A Whirlpool Ice Cube Maker?
Occasionally, the ice cube maker in your Whirlpool refrigerator will need to be checked for faulty or broken parts. When the parts break down, it can prevent the unit from making ice cubes and require that it be serviced to get the ice cube maker operating properly again. There are several fairly simple things you can check that could fix the problem in just a matter of minutes and have your ice cube maker repaired without a lot of expense or time invested. Locate the ice maker shutoff arm on the top of the ice cube bin (it runs along the side of the ice bin) and verify whether the arm is raised or lowered. Lower the shutoff arm if it is raised to see if the ice cube maker re-engages, then check for signs of water in the ice cube tray. Locate the water valve inside the ice maker at the end of the clear plastic water tube and see if water is coming out of the valve. If not, the water valve may need to be replaced.
