How Do You Repair Delta Shower Faucets?

0

Delta shower faucets have what is called a cartridge inside the handle that contains two valves, one for hot and one for cold water. These valves are operated by turning the handle. After time, the parts inside the cartridge wear out and the only solution is to replace the entire cartridge. This is something a handy person is able to complete in about a half an hour. Leave some extra time if you are unfamiliar with plumbing and fixtures. Close the valves to the water pipes located behind the shower wall. There is usually an access panel for these pipes in the wall. Locate the retaining screw on the Delta faucet handle and remove it with an Allen wrench. If there is a cap on your handle, first pry this off with a screwdriver. After the screw is removed, pull it off by hand. Remove the locking washer around the cartridge if there is one. Use a pair of channel pliers to loosen this part, then slide it off. Pull the shower cartridge out of the faucet head. Replace it with another cartridge
