If the drum in your Kenmore 80 series dryer suddenly stops spinning, don't go rushing out for a new dryer just yet. Chances are, the problem with your dryer can be solved with a belt replacement. Replacing the belt in your Kenmore dryer can be completed without the assistance of a professional. Unplug your Kenmore 80 series dryer before beginning your appliance repair. Double-check that all power has been shut off from your appliance before continuing to Step 2. Remove the top panel of your Kenmore 80 series dryer so that you can see into the dryer's cabinet. Pull out the lint screen and remove the two screws that hold the dryer's lint screen housing in place.
