Removing and replacing under-sink supply valves is relatively inexpensive and well within the reach of the novice plumber. Replacing a kitchen sink valve typically requires only ordinary household tools and common, hardware store materials. Turn the sink valve’s handle to the off position. Open the sink basin’s handle and allow water to drain into the sink basin. Turn off the main water supply to the sink valve. Place a bucket below the valve and remove the supply line that connects the valve to the basin. Allow water to drain from the supply line into the bucket.
