How Do You Replace A Mailbox In A Brick Stand?
Brick-encased mailboxes are both functional and sturdy. When it comes time to replace them, the latter quality may seem more of a curse than blessing… However, there is hope – In most cases, the inner-mailbox can be either repaired or extracted and replaced without too much difficulty. Inspect inside of mailbox and determine of there are any screws, bolts or other hardware that secures the box to the outer enclosure. If this is the case, determine if these fasteners can be removed with a wrench, socket or small screw-driver. If they cannot, use the sharp chisel to tear-cut the adjacent mailbox metal away from the fastener. Using the channel-locks, vise-grips or other pliers, position them on either side of the mailbox opening and pull alternately (Left and Right then Left ) – to wiggle (extract) the mailbox from the enclosure.
