When you press the start button on your Kenmore dryer and nothing happens, the motor may be faulty. Rebuilt motors are available at appliance repair facilities. You will need to bring you model number with you to purchase a replacement motor for your Kenmore dryer. To access the motor the top and front of the dryer will be taken apart. This will allow removal of the drum to fully access the motor. Disconnect the Kenmore dryer power cord from the dryer wall outlet. Move the dryer away from the wall so that the top panel can be raised without damaging the wall or the top panel. Raise the lint trap door on the top of the dryer. Remove the two screws on the inside lip of the door opening with a Phillips-head screwdriver. Pull the lint screen out of the dryer and close the lint trap door. Insert a flathead screwdriver between the top panel and the front panel 4 inches from the right corner at the front of the dryer.
