How Do You Replace A Mustang Dash Pad?
A 1965 Ford Mustang’s dash pad is one of the most noticeable components in the car’s interior. After years of sitting in the sun and improper care, the dash pads begin to crack and warp, which detracts greatly from the appearance of the interior. This article covers the ’65 model, but installation on cars from the same era is similar. The dash pad replacement can be done in less than a day and results in a far better-looking interior. Remove the screws that hold the trim located directly below the windshield on the leading edge of the dash. Remove the trim pieces and set them aside. If they are faded, they can be repainted before being reinstalled. Remove the four screws located above the gauge cluster and the four screws located above the glovebox door. Remove the screws that fasten the speaker grille to the top of the pad and remove the grille. Disconnect the wires that go to the speaker and remove it. There are probably a few screws holding it on. Pull out the defroster ducts that a
