Replacing an old sliding patio door is a great way to give your home a new look without spending a lot of money. All you need is a screwdriver and a few minutes to quickly switch out your existing sliding patio door with a fresh, new one. Step 1 Loosen the screws at the top and bottom of the sliding patio door. The rollers will drop down, allowing you to pull the door out of the frame. Lift the sliding door straight up and pull the bottom edge out of the bottom track.
