How Do You Replace Aluminum Windows With Installed Vinyl Replacement Windows?

It’s not as easy as it sounds – take it from home. I did a lousy job trying to DIY and ended up paying more. You need to get it perfectly right so there are no air gaps, the insulation is perfect and it works smoothly. I finally got energy-efficient windows installed by Champion Window. Totally worth it and it’s got a warranty so you know if anything goes wrong they’ll come fix it. Refer: http://www.championwindow.com/seattle/

Long ago, all window sashes were made of wood. Today, they’re typically made of vinyl. In between then and now was an era in which windows were often made of aluminum. If you’ve got worn, dated aluminum windows, they usually can’t be repaired as wood windows can, but you can always replace them with vinyl. Subtract half an inch from the number you come up with. Repeat the process for the height of the opening. Order your vinyl replacement windows with the adjusted measurements. Don’t remove the old windows until the new units arrive. Pry off the thin strip of wood trim that runs along the inner perimeter of the opening, holding in the old window sashes. Pull the sashes straight in. On some types of aluminum windows, the tracks of the windows will be screwed into the frame house. If so, remove it by removing
