How Do You Replace Ceramic Tile In The Tub/Shower?
When one of the tiles on a wall becomes damaged or stained, it becomes an eyesore. Your eyes will be drawn to the tile that doesn’t match, even if the rest are perfect. Replacing the damaged tile is easy if you use with a little care and the correct tools. Create and “X” shape with two strips of masking tape across the face of the tile to be replaced. Use an electric hand drill fitted with a 1/8 inch ceramic drill bit to drill a series of holes along the center of each strip of tape. Put on safety goggles and gloves. Beginning at the center of the tile, hammer the chisel along each line of drilled holes. Wedge flat edge of a small crowbar under a chiseled tile edge and pry up. Continue working until all the broken shards of tile are removed. Take a grout rake and remove all the old grout, taking care not to damage any of the surrounding tiles. Scrape out any old tile mastic stuck to the wall with a putty knife. Set the replacement tile in place to check if the wall is smooth. If there’
