The spark plugs on the Jeep Wrangler engine are located on the side of the cylinder head on the passenger’s side of the engine. The spark plugs convert the electricity from the coil and spark plug wires into a spark to fire the air/fuel mix in the cylinder. Without properly functioning spark plugs, the engine will not run, and if the plugs are very old or worn, it may run very rough. New spark plugs are available through the dealer or an auto parts retailer. Open the hood of your Jeep and locate the negative battery cable. Remove the retaining bolt from the battery cable end using a wrench, and remove the negative cable from the battery. Isolate the cable so it cannot come in contact with the negative battery terminal while you are working. Locate the spark plugs and wires on the passenger’s side of the engine.
