Replacing sparkplugs on a Cavalier Z24 is much like replacing them on any other ’90s-era car, with one minor exception. The plugs on a Cavalier Z24 are covered by an aluminum plate that must be removed first. Aside from that, it’s a fairly straightforward job. Open the hood of your Cavalier and find the large aluminum plate at the top of your engine. Disconnect the negative battery cable from the battery terminal. This should always be done when working on anything electrical on your car. Loosen and remove the four bolts holding the aluminum plate in place, using your ratchet and sockets. Once the bolts have been removed, gently lift up on the plate to remove it from the engine. It is important that you do this
