How do you replace the water pump on a 1994-2001 Dodge Ram 1500?
to replace the water pump isn’t complicated but there are alot of steps i recomend getting a chilton manual for your vehicle so you have every step with pictures.first remove the fan clutch from the waterpumpthe easiest way is to hit the edge of the fan clutch nut with a punch and hammer .just on the edge of the nut to break it loose.spin off the fan.remove serp belt next.undo the hoses from the pump and the heater hose from the small black tube that goes into waterpump.there are several bolts around the pump they are 9/16 head size look at the new pump to see if you have removed all the bolts.the hardest part is the bypass hosewhich attaches to the nipple on top of the pump.use pliers to remove the clampthen pry the hose off with screwdriver creful not to puncture it.to replace this requires removing all things abve the water pump.to make reassembly easier replace the squeaze clamp on bypass hose with worm clamp.which is the screw to tighten style of clamp.make sure to clean all old g
