How do you replace the water pump on a 1996 Jeep Cherokee?
first you remove the thermostat housing, remove the 4 bolts holding the pully in place, two brackett bolts and 4 bolts holding water pump in place, this pump is on the front of the motor, remove all hoses also, scrape away all the residue from the front of motor, have a beer and relax for a second, you know by now your wife is bugging you about the fact you slept with her sister, but tell her, “woman, I ain’t got time for this right now, get back in the trailor and I will make you some tuna casarole later.” that should get her off your back, carefully put liquid sealer, available when you purchase the new pump, on back of pump to seal water, re-attach the in reverse order of how you removed the pump. Refill radiator with anti freeze, now go tell that girl you need a fresh beer and the remote control, because the man just fixed her jeep.
