How Do You Reset A 1992 Cadillac Seville STS Computer?

0

For whatever reason, perhaps a glitch in the system, an engine component that was replaced or maybe even an errant sensor, the 1992 Cadillac Seville STS Computer might begin to show false readings on the dashboard, light up warning lights for no apparent reason, or even not allow the car to start. Just like home computers that suddenly lock-up or begin to go haywire, your STS computer may just need to be reset in order to get it back to its default settings, and allow the car to function normally again. Pop the hood of your STS with the under dash hood pull release mechanism. Open the hood fully and locate the battery in the car. Use your adjustable wrench to remove the negative battery cable by attaching the wrench to the cable clamp nut and turning it in a counterclockwise direction. Pull the cable off and wait for approximately 15 minutes. Re-attach the battery cable by pushing it back on to the battery post and tightening down the clamp nut. Make sure the cable is on snug and firm.
