Whirlpool manufactures a Duet line of washers which feature electronic control panels. The control panel can display a code if the washing machine detects on error during its wash cycle. The error code displayed will indicate in what function of the wash cycle the control system detected a malfunction. These codes can sometimes be cleared and resolved by the user without requiring a visit from a service technician. Observe that the wash cycle has stopped and an error code is displayed. Note the code that is displayed. Press "Pause/Cancel" two times to cancel the cycle. Press "Drain/Spin" if there is water in the tub. Unplug the washer or disconnect power for two minutes, then plug the washer back in or reconnect power. Attempt to find a resolution for the error code. Water inlet problems will display an "F20" code. Check the water hoses to be certain the faucets are turned on and the hoses are not kinked. Drain problems will display an "F21" code.
