How Do You Reset The Windows XP Administrator Password In Linux?

0

A forgotten Windows XP administrator password does not have to ruin your day. According to Microsoft, if you forget the administrator password and you do not have a reset disk, you have to reinstall Windows XP to perform any administrator tasks. You must also install all Windows updates and programs that were previously installed on your computer. But running a Linux CD that contains the Offline NT Password and Registry Editor on your computer enables you to clear the administrator password. Then you can log on to Windows XP as the administrator and set a new password. Go to the Offline NT Password and Registry Editor website (see References). Click on the “Bootdisk” button at the top of the homepage to open the Offline NT Password and Registry Editor and Bootdisk/CD page, then scroll down the page and locate the “Download” section. Click the link for the most recent version of the Offline NT Password and Registry Editor in the “CD Release” section, click “Save” on the “File Download”
