How Do You Safely Ride Public ATV?
Riding All Terrain Vehicles (ATV’s, also called ORV’s for Off Road Vehicles) on public ATV trails requires special precautions. Follow these steps for a safe ride. Assess your skill level. Novice ATV riders should choose beginner trails at least two lanes wide. Single lane public trails are for experienced riders only. Ride to the right as often as possible. Public trails have a right-of-way similar to regular highways. Always veer to the right for safety when meeting riders head on. Signal to let oncoming riders know how many ORV’s they are about to meet.
