It’s America’s favorite pastime, but taking a family of any size to a baseball game can be outrageously expensive once you factor in parking, food, drinks and the cost of your tickets. Follow these steps so your family can enjoy a day at the ballpark without sending anyone into cardiac arrest. Attend an early or late season game when the weather isn’t as hot as the July and August games. When your kids grab your arm as the soda man starts in your direction, you can’t deny them some relief. However, if you go when the weather isn’t quite so hot, they won’t be quite so thirsty. Pick up souvenirs before you go to the stadium. Stop by your local Wal-Mart or Kroger and you may find team hats, t-shirts, foam fingers and other gear at reasonable prices. Your kids are going to love heading to the game all geared up, and they won’t have any reason to visit the stadium gift shop. Don’t forget that autographs are priceless (literally) souvenirs.
