During tough economic times, many people are looking for ways to save money at home. As a family living on one income, we have found many ways to cut back. It is amazing how much of the little expenses we take for granted. These little expenses add up to significant amounts during the month. Cutting back a few or all of these can save you hundreds of dollars. Make coffee at home. Trendy coffee shops can be very expensive at $3 to $4 a morning. Throw in a muffin or a bagel and it gets close to $10, which can add up to $200 a month. The alternative is to invest in a coffee pot which has a timer, if possible. Get it ready the night before, set the timer, and brew each morning. Pour your coffee in a travel mug to have on the way and at work.
