Place your pattern on top of your fabric. Make sure the pattern is lying completely flat, with no wrinkles. You may wish to run your hand over the pattern to help flatten it. Start at any edge. Carefully place a straight pin through the pattern, on through the fabric and then through the pattern once more. Pat the fabric or straighten it as needed.
