How do you select which chefs and cookbook authors will be featured on cookstr?
We select our chefs and cookbook authors based on a number of criteria. We consider including recipes from anyone who has published a cookbook, so long as the recipes rely primarily on real food made with real ingredients. We try to avoid recipes that use a lot of processed food. We also try to represent the full diversity of foods and cultures, and to feature lots of recipes that are easy and inexpensive. We want to help make you a better cook. We also work with publishers to make sure that we have the right to feature the recipes on our site. Our executive team chooses the chefs and authors we would like to include on our site. We have extensive backgrounds in the food world, and we also have a network of food professionals who help us find contributors. If two or more of our featured chefs or authors recommend a colleague, we will be asking them if they want to join!
