The following is instructions for your salt/pepper separating needs, and fear not – it does not involve sorting the grains one by one with a pair of tweezers. Take a piece of woolen cloth (a sweater will do) and use it to rub the plastic spoon. This will create an electric charge. Hold the plastic spoon over the mixture of pepper and salt and slowly lower the spoon until the pepper starts clinging to it. Take care not to lower the spoon too much, or the salt will also start clinging to the spoon. Brush or knock the pepper off the spoon into its own pile.
