How Do You Set Up An RCA VCR & Cable Box?
So you’re looking to set up your RCA VCR and cable box, and instead of using the standard coaxial setup, you would prefer to use RCA cables. Coaxial cables are a single-wire hookup, however, because the audio and video are transmitting through a single connection, they tend to distort after multiple splits (i.e., connecting through a VCR). Using RCA cables, which use separate connectors for video and audio, will give your picture and audio better stability. Locate the RCA outputs on your cable box. These will be yellow, red and white and labeled output. Insert the ends of one of your RCA cables into these ports, making sure to mind the color-coding. Locate the RCA inputs on the back of your VCR; these will be the same colors and labeled input. Insert the opposite ends of the wires from the cable box into these ports.
