Here is an easy guide to understanding where to sew them on at in order to be comfortable. Buy your pointe shoes. It is best if your dance teacher fits you because these are new shoes to you and sizes vary. If your teacher doesn’t suggest a shoe to start with I would go for the capezio pavlova’s. But if your arch is stronger go for the blochs. Take the elastic and sew it an inch away from the heel of your shoe. To tell where to sew it, fold the back heel of the shoe in towards the sole and where it ends is where the elastic should go. ALL the way across. However, do NOT sew it straight across, sew it so it hugs the ankle. When you get your ribbons, take them out of the package and very carefully singe each end with a lighter.
