Fortunately, sharpening an electric knife is just as easy as sharpening any other knife. Take a metal bar, rod or sharpening stone and place it securely in your hand or on a sturdy, flat surface, such as a table. Hold the electric knife so its sharp end is facing away from you. Push the electric knife along the metal or stone with enough pressure to cause friction. Using too much pressure will cause the blade to chip or break.
