How Do You Sharpen An Electric Knife?
Electric knives cut with speed and power, requiring little effort on the user’s part. However, they wear down faster than typical knives, since the repetitive motion caused by the knife’s motor system causes greater friction than the standard motions you make with any other knife. Fortunately, sharpening an electric knife is just as easy as sharpening any other knife. Take a metal bar, rod or sharpening stone and place it securely in your hand or on a sturdy, flat surface, such as a table. Hold the electric knife so its sharp end is facing away from you. Push the electric knife along the metal or stone with enough pressure to cause friction. Using too much pressure will cause the blade to chip or break. Continue repeating Step 3, pushing the knife along the metal or stone until it attains the desired sharpness. Pour a few drops of knife or blade oil onto a rag or towel.
