How Do You Ship Holiday Cookies Or Candy?

0

If you have loved ones living across country or family members who are in the military, you can still ship them cookies or candy by follow these tips. Skip fragile pastries such as cakes or pies which need to be frozen to prevent spoilage. So think before you bake. Line a container (of your choice) with crumpled wax paper. Layer the goodies with sheets of wax paper to keep them from sticking together. If you have different goodies to send, use plastic wrap to separate them to avoid flavor transfer. Don’t wrap items tightly, or they can get soggy. Fill any gaps with more crumpled wax paper. Place lid on container and tape around the lid with packing tape. Use a cardboard box that is at least two inches larger all around than your container. Line the box with bubble wrap or packing peanuts and don’t use newspaper. Newspaper weighs more and will make the box heavier and that will make the postage higher.
