How Do You Splice A Coaxial Cable Connection?
Coaxial, or coax, cable transfers video and audio signals to televisions, radios and other electrical equipment. When a length of coaxial cable is cut or damaged, a splice is performed to remove the damage and reconnect the cable. Three components make up a coaxial cable splice. An F-style connector attaches to each end of the coaxial cable, and a barrel connector connects the two female fittings. A spliced coaxial cable loses efficiency, but the amount of loss is minimal. Square cut each end of the coaxial cable with a pair of side cutters. Adjust the cutting depth of the coaxial cable stripper for the cable’s exterior diameter. Slide the cable stripper onto the end of the cut cable. Make sure the end of the cable is even with the outside edge of the wire stripper. Turn the cable stripper clockwise several times until you no longer feel the blade cutting into the cable sheathing. Remove the cut section of sheathing from the ends of the cable. Inspect the end of the cable to ensure no
