You can stop those nasty browser highjackings that keep you from being able to search on google from your browser without having your browser redirected to another website. Most browser highjackers send advertisement to the victim. The victim will do a search on google and everytime they click on a search result they are routed to a alternate page. Download AVG from download.com. It is a free virus protection that has a feature to stop browser hijacking. After a scan it will tell you where the virus is located and give you the option to delete or quarantine it. Make sure your firewall is on. This can be done by going into Control Panel and Settings. Whether you have Windows XP or Vista you should always keep your firewall on. Don’t think because your virus protection has a firewall protection you shouldn’t need Windows firewall. Find the virus and delete it. Do a search to make sure every file of it is deleted.
