You can block pop-up ads for free using standard privacy settings in your browser and free pop-up blocking software. Open Internet Explorer. Click on “Tools” in the top menu bar, then select “Options.” Choose the “Privacy” tab. Locate the “Block pop-ups” option in the lower section of the Privacy tab screen. Click on the check box next to Block pop-ups to activate Internet Explorer’s pop-up blocker. Click “Save” or “OK” to save the settings. Download a free third-party pop-up blocker such as NoAds to add an additional layer of blocking protection against pop-up ads (see “Additional Resources,” below, for the link).
