How Do You Stop Workplace Bullying & Harassment?
When bullying and harassment are present in the workplace, no good can ever come of it. Certainly, the organization is not going to turn the same profit as it would if there was respect and harmony. Often, it is difficult to make such changes in the workplace, but they are necessary for all involved. Fortunately, there are a number of ways to incorporate the necessary changes. Not surprisingly, it all starts with management. Don’t allow a class system in the workplace. Eliminate hierarchy. Instead, create a work atmosphere that is respectful and embraces dignity. Employees will perform better and display better conduct when there are no hierarchical distinctions. Limit e-mail and phone call communications among employees. This type of contact does not develop relationships or trust. It is much easier to disrespect another person when you communicate via email, text, or phone.
