After you remove the cabinet, you can freely remove and test the various parts. Disconnect the washing machine from the outlet before you begin any repairs. Remove the console. Use a screwdriver to remove the two screws on the ends of the front of the console. Locate the four screws that attach the console in the back and remove them as well. Lift the console from the washer and let it rest behind the machine. Do not let the wires become over-stressed. Remove the two brass clips where the console was attached. Insert a screwdriver between the top of the washer and the clip. Lift up and toward the rear of the washer to release the clips. Disconnect the lid switch connector plug from the washer.
