How Do You Tape Drywall With Angled Ceilings?
Angled ceilings are very popular today, in part because companies have developed a new type of drywall product, a special angle tape made of a composite of paper and vinyl. This angle tape quickly and easily creates sharp angles because it is more rigid than paper tape, but still flexible enough to adhere to drywall. Only a few companies make angle tape, but most of their products are available in major retailers. Examine the length of the drywall angle for breaks or damage. Cut out any bad areas with a utility knife. Measure the angle with a measuring tape, then cut a piece of the special angle tape to the same length. Fold the angle tape lengthwise along the factory crease, smooth it flat and fold it lengthwise again. This will give the angle tape flexibility and keep it from lifting away from the drywall. Apply a thick coat of joint compound to each side of the drywall angle. You only need to apply enough so that the angle tape can be embedded. Make sure that there are no bare spots
