How Do You Teach The Laws Of Motion?
Teaching the laws of motion involves guiding students through the levels of cognitive taxonomy. One of the most well known is Bloom’s Taxonomy. A basic lesson plan will bring your students up to the cognitive level you expect them to reach. This practice works best when you employ a variety of techniques targeted at the different learning styles. Since some students learn by hearing or seeing, others by doing and still others by questioning. Give the students basic definitions of the laws of motion and ask them to memorize them. For an added challenge, have the students look up the laws and memorize them on their own. Ensure students have memorized the laws of motion by giving them a quiz or asking them to recite them. This simple regurgitation of information is the “Knowledge” or “Remembering” level of Bloom’s Taxonomy.
