How do you tell the difference between a quaking aspen and a paper birch?

Quaking aspen or populous tremuloides, have leaves that tremmor in the wind and go from appearing green to silver. The bark is much darker than on the betula paperifera; or paper birch,commonly used in yore as paper to write on. The bark is spotted gray and white in medium splotches.
