Here’s a quick run-down on the fairly easy task. Put an empty bobbin onto the bobbin winder post, typically located near the hand wheel on the top or front of the vintage sewing machine. Place the spool of thread on the lower spool pin for a front mounted winder and on the top spool pin for a top mounted bobbin winder. Wrap the thread over the bobbin thread guide and around the bobbin. Loosen the inner wheel on the hand wheel and run the machine by stepping on the presser foot to wind the bobbin.
