• Check with your local utility companies. Several companies have free recycling programs. Much of the time, the company will actually pay you to pick up and take away your old (working) fridge or freezer! • Take it out to the street. • Wait for the garbage collector to pick it up. • Seal the refrigerator doors shut. Children going into the refrigerator with the door shut could not escape. Thus it is very important that the doors are sealed in a way that entry is impossible. • Be sure this is an option. You may have to find alternative ways to do this. Check with the city that you live in to see if there is a certain procedure.
